SRC Social Science Peer Academic Mentor

What is the SRC Social Science Peer Academic Mentor (PAM)?

The SRC Social Science Peer Academic Mentor is a student who will meet with current and future students in the Social Science discipline to answer any questions that they may have in regards to Bishop’s resources and opportunities as well as the online learning environment within and outside the Divisional field of study. They will also collaborate with their divisional senator to organize academic events. Additionally, they will play a key role in the promotion of the Peer Academic Mentorship program and other SRC Academic endeavors and events within Orientation Week and throughout the year, including reaching out specifically to Divisional Students and the incoming class as a whole. They will work for the Student Success Centre, with a focus on student engagement, academic development, and EDI (equity, diversity, inclusion) evidence-based practices in collaboration with the senators and other student leaders. They will also collaborate with Student Services and their respective division’s dean, chairs and academic advisors.
